Whenever we get really hungry the first thing we do is search for packed snacks, or frozen stuff, dry snacks or Maggi. Well I get those pangs too and I am no different. Who wouldnt love to just dig into some cheddar or chips or dried kachoris? N if your fridge is loaded with chocolate bars and frozen stuff even better….but all of that is as they say a mint on the lips lifetime on the hips!!!
So here are some healthier options for satiating those pangs. Options which are quick, tasty, healthy and easily available; would be perfect for some guilt free binging right??
1) DRY FRUITS AND NUTS- a handful of almonds, walnuts, 2 pieces of dates, dried apricots, dried fig, sunflower seeds, hazelnuts make for a healthy snack and keep u full for a while.
2)BOILED & STEAMED- moong sprouts, boiled channa, boiled rajma, boiled veges, plain dhokla (steamed not fried or with tadka), dudhi muthia, idli would be apt till dinner time.
3)MILK- good old milk is perfect to have it with cereals, or make smoothies out of it with natural sugars (banana, dates, Apple, pineapple). They kept you energetic too
4)FRUIT- dig your teeth into a fresh fruit instead of chocolates or fried snacks. Apple, orange, watermelon, musk melon anything you like. Seasonal fruits are best option.
5) SALAD- fix a quick salad. Just eating some raw sliced veges is boring right? Make yours with a twist. Experiment with dressings and different combos. Here’s something I just made for myself after a long day at work.
It’s a quick easy recipe which I’d share on my next blog!! Stay tuned!!
