Pondicherry. Chapter 1-Hotel.

Hello lovelies….here is another one on travel. So last year around this time we (me n hubby) decide to take a holiday for a special occasion. Out of the lot of places on bucket list Pondicherry sounded perfect for a short 3 nights 4 days trip. I did bookings through make my trip. I got a customized itinerary since I wanted few special things to fit in.

So we land at Chennai airport and we had our cab from make my trip waiting to take us to Pondicherry which is nearly 4 hrs drive from chennai. It was raining heavily on the way and we were not sure if we had selected the right time to come to this place. Our worries were put to ease as we reached Pondi, coz there the sky was clear blue and no rains at all. It was mesmerising. After living in Mumbai and being used to pollution all the time…this place with its fresh pure air, tranquillity and clear blue beautiful sky was a super happy change.

We were booked at Shenbaga hotel and convention centre, one of the 4 star properties in pondi just 5 mints walking distance from the promenade. It’s a beautiful property, with very polite and courteous staff. The cleanliness was excellent. We had reached 2 hrs before our check in time but since we were leaving early morning on day of checkout they gave us the room immediately. While the room was getting ready the hotel staff escorted us to their Tulip restaurant serving complimentary buffet breakfast to all the guests. They asked us to have some breakfast while we waited. The food had a south indian touch to its preparations but the spread was pretty good and the food was tasty and felt easy on the stomach. We stuffed ourselves with some indian dishes, some eggs to order, cereals and milk, fresh fruits, yoghurts and muffins. Once we were done stuffing ourselves with all the yummy food we were escorted to our room. While on the way to the room we noticed they had hanging eagles in the lobby which made the lobby ceiling look beautiful. Check it out????

The rooms were beautiful and spacious with lovely bathrooms with all the modern amenities. The room gave us a feeling of a 5 star hotel. It was much more beautiful than our expectation. We checked out their terrace where they hv their pool and it has a beautiful view of the whole Pondi around. Check it out????

The hotel terrace looks beautiful in the evenings too ????

Beautiful innit?? We were booked for majesty room, and it was at unbelievable price. We paid just 2600 rs per night. The hotel also has a bar called Marilyn bar and a 24hr coffee shop called Poppy. Overall a perfect place to stay for a holiday for 2.

Before we would start our holiday we thought of taking a 2 hour nap to feel more energized for the whole day and the remaining days to explore this beautiful French colony now a union territory of India. So we went back to our room got into our cozy duvet and sunk in our soft beds feeling the crisp bedsheet and blacked out for 2 hours, while our private chauffeur driven car provided by make my trip for full 4 days waited on in the parking.
