Staycation- Trawangan Oasis, Gili

When I had started planning my Bali holiday, the one place definitely on the list to do was Gili Island, esp Gili Trawangan (the party island) for 2 nights. Had to figure out how to reach there and also where to stay.

Again when I was searching thru make my trip, I came across Trawangan Oasis resort and read good things about it on trip advisor too. The rooms looked great so we decided to book it. The owner Mark, was prompt with his revert and booking went smooth. Once at Bali we were trying to find the best rates for ship ride to Gili. We gave a call to Mark if he knew someone. He gave us the best price for 2 with pick up from near the hotel in Bali to Gili harbour. Where everyone else quoted 14k for 2 we got it for 7.5k Inr for 2 ppl thanks to Mark.

We reached Gili on the decided day. That island has no motorable vehicles, only horse carriages and bicycles run there. We were told the resort is 20 mints away from the harbour but we felt we reached quickly. Once at the resort, we were greeted by a jovial Mark and his staff and a refreshing cold welcome drink. They also helped us with entire map of the island with good sites for turtle sighting and also for food and parties. We then got our phone connected to hotel wifi and were shown to our cottage.

The room was huge and spacious with a big comfortable bed (though there is no duvet, just sheets to cover with) and big bathroom. The room has a safe for precious belongings to be locked away, has a wardrobe with hangers for your clothes and basic toiletries are provided for. There was no dental kit but they might provide on asking. Outside the room was a clothes rack for wet clothes after swim in their huge pool or after a dip in the sea which is 2 mints walk from the property. There was also a water cooler with mineral water for you to refill the supply of your water for free.

We decided to take a quick bite at their open restaurant by the pool. We had a sandwich there and hubby enjoyed a chilled beer.

All guests are served complimentary tea at 4.30 with cake (one of the best cake).

After this we planned to head out so we were given bicycles by the hotel to roam around Gili. Apparently you can cover the whole island in 1 hour by bicycle is what we were told. We enjoyed snorkelling at near by beach 10 mints by bicycle. The beach is 2 mints away from the resort but the turtle sighting spot is 10 mints away.

We even cycled to party in the night

After a great party when we returned the roads have no lights in the night and resort is 20 mints away. We lost our way once but gps came to help.  Enjoyed a goodnight of sleep. Next morning started with a lovely complimentary breakfast which consisted of various options. We had eggs to order which came with toast and homemade butter and marmalade which were so good.  There was also tea, coffee, juice, milk cereal and fresh fruits.

This day we were in waters all day for scuba diving (here again Mark helped us with the diving school) and partied all night. I was also provided with a hair dryer to dry my phone charger. The staff was extremely friendly and Mark was a delightful host. Enjoyed my stay at this place. The resort is very quiet and you dont get disturbed by the party music at all. Plus its safe, beautiful and clean though a bit rustic. Wifi is great in the room.

We thanked the whole staff for our wonderful stay here before we bid a goodbye. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday by the beach at this island, this resort is perfect for you.
